# Separate an encouraging idea from a human result

The useful question is what has been shown in people with the problem you want assessed.

## Animal work is not a result in people

Most reports of faster tendon repair with BPC-157 are from rat studies. A tendon joins muscle to bone. These findings do not show that it helps people (evidence checked September 28, 2026).

Ask whether a claim rests on animals, a report from people or a trial with a group for comparison. These answer different questions.

Leave room for what the evidence has not filled in.

## The human record is small

The human research covered five studies. Together they gave BPC-157 to about 80 people. Those are the counts in the review by the FDA, which oversees US medicines (checked September 28, 2026).

Only two studies included a group for comparison. Neither had been published as a full paper in that FDA review.

A comparison group gets a different treatment or a dummy treatment with no active medicine. Researchers can then compare what happened in the groups.

## Feeling better does not establish the cause

Small reports describe people feeling better after BPC-157. With no group for comparison, they cannot show that BPC-157 caused the change (reports reviewed September 28, 2026).

The missing comparison matters when a report is offered as proof. Ask what else might explain the change.

## A planned trial is not a finding

In China, a study of BPC-157 had started for hamstring strains. A hamstring strain is an injury to the muscles behind your thigh. Its public study record had no results posted when checked September 28, 2026.

No completed injury trial with a dummy-treatment group had reported a result at that check.

A study entry describes a plan and its status. Look for actual results before treating it as evidence of benefit.

## What can short reports establish?

The FDA says the studies are too short and small to show that BPC-157 is safe (review checked September 28, 2026).
